I’m so proud to share that I achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE Photography!
As a student at Prenton High School, I created this online photography portfolio to showcase my coursework and personal projects. Over the past year, I explored a wide range of themes including portraits, landscapes, and architecture. I loved experimenting with creative photo editing, especially using transformation and distortion techniques, and found huge inspiration in the work of Antonio Mora and Barbara Kruger.
Why I Built This Photography Website
This website began as part of my Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award, where I chose to develop a new skill. I decided to build a digital portfolio—not just for the award, but also to professionally present my GCSE Photography portfolio.
At first, I was completely new to web design. I bought a book to help me learn, felt totally overwhelmed, and eventually took a simpler route by building my site using WordPress. It turned out to be the perfect platform, and I’ve learned so much about design, layout, and how to present my creative work to others.
A Thank You to Mr. Taylor
I want to say a huge thank you to Mr. Taylor, my GCSE Photography teacher at Prenton High. His encouragement, honest feedback, and guidance helped me grow so much—both creatively and personally. I wouldn’t have achieved this result without his support.
What’s Next?
I’m continuing my photography studies at college for the next three years, where I’ll be diving deeper into digital photography, editing, and creative projects. I plan to keep updating this website with new work as I learn and grow, so stay tuned!
💬 A Message to Prenton High Students
To the girls at Prenton High School: if you’re starting your own photography journey, I want you to know that you can do this too. Be brave with your ideas, keep experimenting, and don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Your creativity matters—and with hard work and a bit of belief, you can achieve top results. I started out just like you, and look where it led me!
Thanks for visiting my student photography portfolio—this is only the beginning ✨
